A high heat retention storage heater is a type of electric heater that is designed to store heat during off-peak electricity hours and then release that heat slowly over time. This allows the heater to use electricity at a lower cost, as off-peak rates are lower than peak rates.
If your property already has storage heaters the easiest solution to make your home warmer and more energy efficient is to replace your old storage heaters with new modern high heat retention storage heaters.
If your property has an EPC of D, E, F or G and your household income is less than £31,000 or you live in an eligible Post Code (no proof of income required) area then you would qualify for the Home Upgrade Grant to carry out this type of work. There are others ways in which you could qualify so if you are interested please contact the CHiL Team.
