What is HUG?
HUG is the government funded scheme available to Lancashire residents, to install energy saving measures worth up to £38,000 in properties with no mains gas central heating and an EPC rating of D, E, F or G.
What’s changing?
Previously, you could qualify for a HUG if your household income was under £31,000. From April, if your household income is less than £36,000 gross then you could be eligible.
Under the new policy, electrically heated flats will be eligible to receive further funding towards energy saving measures.
Other ways to qualify
What does this mean for you?
If you meet any of the criteria above, then you could qualify and there’s no need to wait until April, you can apply today!
The scheme is running until 31st March 2025 however, we urge residents not to wait to apply, as funding is allocated on a first come first serve basis – when it’s gone, it’s gone.
If you’ve applied before and were unsuccessful based on your income, we will aim to contact you again. However, you don’t need to wait. If you meet the new income criteria, you can re-apply and we will be in touch with the next steps.
All applications must be received no later than December 2024 in order to qualify before the scheme ends.
